How long will the Battery Last?
Based on optimal usage where the BlackJack is turned off after each use, we have found talktime to exceed 50 hours.
How do I replace the CR2032 battery?
On the back of the BlackJack unit there is a sliding door that opens and the CR2032 can be replaced as often as needed.
What do I do if the caller’s voice sounds too loud or distorted?
Input volume may need to be adjusted lower on your phone, and overall volume can be adjusted back up on your radio. This has proved to reduce distortion in caller’s voices.
When I plug the BlackJack into me headset port on my phone and make a call I hear nothing. What should I do?
Make sure that the BlackJack is fully pushed into the headset jack port. Full insertion is needed for the BlackJack adapter to work properly.
Why does my phone’s speaker and mic turn off when I plug in the BlackJack?
That is a function of all phones. When a headset jack is in use, both the phone’s speaker, and mic are turned off and all audio in and out of the phone is passed through the headset jack.
If I leave the radio on 88.7fm, and the phone rings with the BlackJack still on, will my phone’s ringtone play through the radio? Yes.
If 88.7fm is already a used station on my radio will there be interference?
The BlackJack was designed to transmit to any radio within approximately 25 feet of the radio. Turning the BlackJack on should eliminate the noise caused by other radio stations. But intermittent interference may persist.
Will the BlackJack work in the house?
Yes, the BlackJack will work anywhere an FM radio can be tuned to 88.7fm. Use the BlackJack for conference calls in offices, or on a kitchen radio to talk with your hands-free while cooking.
My phone doesn’t have a headset jack, what do I do?
Many phones require an audio adapter to convert the phone’s audio output into a 2.5mm universal headset jack. This is a very common part and is available for sale on the BlackJackHandsfree.com website.
Can the BlackJack’s battery be recharged?
No, this type of CR2032 lithium battery can not be recharged. But, this battery is the most common battery available at stores outside of the most common AA, AAA, C, D cylinder style.
How do I know if the battery is dead or running low?
The red LED light on the BlackJack is intended to also indicate the battery’s power level. If the light is dim, or does not come on, then the battery needs replacing. Also, if the audio levels seem low or the transmitter doesn’t seem to be strong enough to supercede other radio interference, you may need to replace the battery.
Can the BlackJack be used on an iPod or other MP3 player device?
Yes, with an adapter that will convert from 3.5mm stereo to 2.5mm, you could use the BlackJack to transmit an MP3 device to the radio, but the BlackJack was designed specifically for cell phone and PDA phone handsfree and music use.
If my cell phone says I’m connected, but I can’t hear my caller’s voice from my stereo speakers, what can I do? Adjust the volume on your radio. If that doesn’t work, adjust the volume on your cell phone.
I have a Bluetooth-enabled phone that I’ve already set up to a Bluetooth headset. Can I use BlackJack Handsfree when I don’t want to wear the headset? Yes.
